Out of the blue

i have lots of things to say. just getting bogged down with the loads of work at office, for a change and not finding time to blog.
hmmm, i just got these questions into my mind. how does a plane survive when it is hit by rain drops? when the plane is travelling at a speed of say, 800-900km/h, how does it withstand droplets
of water hitting it with atleast the same relative speed (assuming the horizontal velocity of water
is zero because they are coming down vertically or negligible because their speed is negligible
up there when they just started to fall). An average speed of a bullet from an average rifle is around 1400km/h(yeah, its 1400kmph. i googled :) ). ok, i remember somebody telling me that
the view of clouds from the top, i.e from the window of a plane is simply awesome. its ok if the plane is above the clouds until the rain stops or it has reached another place where there is no rain. but what if it hadn’t. how does it withstand a rain of bullets shooting all over it as it is moving? its body should be bullet-proof. imagine the plight of a pilot who can see the bullets and only the bullets before him!!! i hope it is not as bad as iam imagining.

my friend, satish is coming by a flight from delhi. It is about time for the landing of his plane and it is raining heavily outside. that’s the context for these questions in my mind ;)
